Last Saturday, December 28, a group of creators and managers of the artistic community of Havana gathered at the Taller Gorría Gallery to celebrate the launch of The Cuban Art Huban innovative digital platform dedicated to promoting emerging Cuban art. The event was marked by an atmosphere of curiosity and enthusiasm, which resulted in a fruitful dialogue between the public and the founders of the project.
The presentation was made by curator and art critic Jorge Peré, together with the interventions of Cristóbal Echevarría García and Adán Perugorría Lafuente, main creators of the platform, who highlighted the objectives and the vision of The Cuban Art Huba digital space where emerging artists can exhibit their work, connect with the art market and reach a global audience.
The exhibition that accompanied the launch included some of the works belonging to the platform, by artists Carlos Zorrilla Montes, Omar Anthony Rodríguez, Jany Batista, Gabriela Pez, Alejo Cañer, Rolando Galindo, María Fernanda Chacón, Kevin Sánchez and Giselle Lucía Navarro.

In the words of Jorge Peré:
“We all know the imperative need that exists in the Cuban context of a stable market that can cover what our artists produce. Proudly, we’ve had a lot of talent in different generations and that talent has always been fed by a foreign market, which is usually intermittent. The Cuban Art Hub’ s goal is to insert the work of the youngest creators into the dynamics of the international market. Our projection is to call on those artists to approach the project, get to know what we do and thus we can create links. On the platform we seek to set and sustain prices for the works that are safe, carefully priced and stable for the client. We try to achieve a market for Cuban creators and collectors that is as transparent as possible and that is not affected by fluctuations that ultimately benefit neither one nor the other.”

The Cuban Art Hub promises to be an invaluable resource for those interested in discovering and supporting Cuban artistic talent. With its launch, it opens a new portal for Cuba’s vibrant and diverse emerging art.
