Bajanda is an installation that revolves around language. The word “bajanda” is presented in LED lights, decontextualizing it from its original context and relocating it in a completely different frame. The term “bajanda” comes from Chocolate MC’s song of the same name, released in 2018, where “‘bajanda” is a variation of the gerund “‘bajando”, used with an imperative sense. The success of the song transformed this expression into part of the Cuban popular linguistic heritage.
