Blog (Mediterranean)

This work reproduces different spaces that are visually connected by the same horizon line. The handwritten coordinates refer to specific sites of the main destinations of Cuban migrants, which are located in front of the Mediterranean Sea. The sensation of a travel notebook or “logbook” is created, using an ordinary and common element that refers to the same place of origin. In this way, I discourse on migratory phenomena, the struggle of the unknown against the known, and I try to capture the relationship between memories and the surrounding physical space.
